Putting on make up in a rush? Here are some common mistakes make up rookies make.

Wearing wrong shade
Wearing the wrong shade of foundation will leave you with showing lines along the neckline. Avoid wearing the tone closest to your skin.

Tweezing too much
This will cause your eyebrows to start thinning and looking different from one another. Put the tweezers down and chill. This is one mistake you dont want to make as the hair might not come back that easy and fast.

Not tweezing
There are some people who do not tweeze at all. This might work for some people but not for most. Your eyebrows need to be shaped nicely which will bring out the beautiful features of your face. Finding a professional to do this for you is a good idea.

Too much foundation
Foundation does not require to be at a heavy coat in order for it to cover your face or blemishes. Applying the correct one and the right tone will do the trick instead of putting on a hefty amount

Too much blush or bronzer
All you need is just enough blush to add natural flush to your cheeks. Always remove the excess amount from your brush to keep you from applying too much of it. Do not apply too much bronzer either because you dont want to end up looking like a disco ball.

Too much powder
You certainly dont want to look like your nose was dipped into flour. If you accidentally wear too much of it, wait 10 minutes before starting any correction as the skin oils usually absorb some of it pretty quickly.

Lipstick  on teeth
Lipstick on teeth is just as bad as food stuck on your teeth. It looks even worst when you have dark lipstick stuck to your teeth.

Lipliner ring
Sometimes the lipstick wears off as lipliner seems to stay on longer. It just looks as if you have the outline but no lipstick. FIx it by wiping that off or applying lipstick to give it the complete look.

Smokey and not black eyes
While applying eyeshadow and specially mixing in a few shades of it, make sure your eyes end up getting the smokey look and not make it seem as if you have a black eye.

Eyeshadow fallout
It is common for specks of eyeshadow to fall off and sit underneath your eyes, specially on hot days. Make sure you wipe it off and apply shadow above your eyes to make it look even and amazing.

Canned Tomatoes
Canned tomatoes are a concern not for the tomatoes, but because of the lining inside of the can. The chemical called bisphenol-A or BPA – this chemical has the FDA concerned. Fresh tomatoes or get tomatoes from a glass jar.

Processed Meats
Who doesn’t love a fresh cold cut sandwich? We all do right? Unfortunately, these processed meats are filled with sodium nitrates which are well known carcinogens.

Farmed Salmon
Farmed salmon are fed diets consisting of chemicals, antibiotics, pesticides, and other known carcinogens. This type of salmon also has far less of the healthy omega-3 that we would normally get with fresh salmon.

Potato Chips
Potato chips are fried in high temperatures to make them crispy, but doing this also causes chips to make a material called acrylamide (a known carginogen). This material is also found in cigarettes.

Foods Highly Salted, Pickled, or Smoked
While these foods may taste so good, they are also very bad for your health. N-nitroso is associated with increasing the risks of cancer – this type of nitrate can be found in all of these types of foods.

Highly Processed White Flours
Food consisting of white flour are delicious, but they also can be cancer causing. In order to bleach white flour, mills much use a chemical called chlorine gas.

Refined Sugars
These sugars are not only known for spiking insulin levels, but also promoting growth in cancer cells.

Alcohol
Alcohol is the second leading cause of cancer. Excessive consumption of alcohol can lead to cancer of the mouth, esophagus, liver, colon, rectum, and female breast cancers.

Mysteries of the Sphinx

Mythical Creature
A sphinx is a mythical creature with, as a minimum, the head of a human and the body of a lion. In Greek tradition, it has the head of a human, the haunches of a lion, and sometimes the wings of a bird.

Origin of Sphinx
The true origin and purpose of the Sphinx remains a mystery. Despite its fundamental enigma, the image of the Sphinx remains in the mind of history as the keystone of ancient Egyptian civilization and a part of its religious beliefs.

The Name “Sphinx”
The Western name “Sphinx” was given to it in antiquity based on the legendary Greek mythology sphinx, a creature with the body of a lion, the head of a woman and the wings of a bird, though Egyptian sphinxes have the head of a man.

Largest Sphinx
The largest and most famous sphinx is the Great Sphinx of Giza, situated on the Giza Plateau and adjacent to the Great Pyramids of Giza in Egypt. It is also the largest free-standing sculpture.

Head
The head of the Great Sphinx of Giza was altered many times by the Pharaohs therefore it is best remembered with the head of a king wearing his headdress and the body of a lion. It is believed that the original head was that of the lion and the Sphinx dates to the Age of Leo – 12,000 years ago.

Missing Nose
The one-meter-wide nose on the face of the Great Sphinx of Giza is missing. It is presumed that the nose was broken off by a cannon ball fired by Napoleon’s soldiers.

Body
The paws are 50 feet long (15m) while the entire length is 150 feet (45m). The Sphinx has a tail which wraps around the right hind paw.

Breastplate
The Sphinx has a breast plate between its front paws. This breastplate contains many metaphors.

Enclosure Wall
In 2010, Egypt’s Supreme Council of Antiquities (SCA) announced the the uncovering of ancient walls surrounding the Great Sphinx of Giza after a routine excavation.

Ethnicity
Forensic experts as well as casual observers have characterized the face of the Great Sphinx of Giza as “Negroid”. One of the earliest known descriptions of a “Negroid” Sphinx is recorded in the travel notes of French scholar Constantin-François de Chassebœuf, Comte de Volney, who visited in Egypt between 1783 and 1785.

MOST EXPENSIVE DIAMONDS

The Allnatt Diamond: $3 Million
Named after Major Alfred Ernest Allnatt, this cushion cut beauty is 101.29 carats of vivid yellow stone. The hair of mystery surrounding it may be part of the reason it’s value is so high: The oprigins of the Allnatt Diamond are, at this time, unknown.

The Moussaieff Red Diamond: $7 Million
The Moussaieff Red Diamond, though small in size at 5.11 carats, is actually one of the largest fancy red diamonds known today, according to the Gemological Institute of America (GIA).

The Heart of Eternity: $16 Million
Sold to De Beers Group by the Steinmetz Group, the Heart of Eternity’s brilliant blue color is very rare. It’s 27.64 and was found in the Premier Diamond Mine in South Africa.

The Wittelsbach Diamond: $ 16.4 Million
The Wittelsbach Diamond is a hefty 35.36 carat deep blue diamond. It’s claim to fame was becoming part of both Austrian and Bavarian crown jewels.

The Steinmetz Pink: $25 Million
The Steinmetz Pink is incredibly popular and has made the rounds being  part of Smithsonian’s “The Splendor of Diamonds” exhibit in 2003. It weighs 59.60 carats, and the largest diamond to be categorized as Fancy Vivid Pink by the Gemological Institute of America.

De Beers Centenary Diamond: $100 Million
Discovered in relatively recent history (1986),the De Beers Centenary Diamond is colorless, flawless and weighed a whopping 599 carats upon discovery. Since then, it has been cut down to a 273.85-carat, modified heart-shaped stone.

The Hope Diamond: $350 Million
The most well-known diamond earned its name in 1830 after landing itself in the private collection of the English financier, Henry Philip Hope. You can now find it in the Smithsonian.

The Cullinan: $400 Million
The largest rough gem ever found, the 3,106,75 carat Cullinan is also known as the “Star of Africa”. It’s now cut and shaped, coming in at 530.2 carats.

The Sancy Diamond: Priceless
If you ever thought it was possible for something to be priceless, here’s your proof. The last two diamonds on the list are so valuable they have no real monetary value. Once belonging to the Great Moguls, the Sancy is kept in the French Crown Jewel collection housed at the Louvre and weighs 55.23 carats.

Koh-I-Noor Diamond: Priceless
As promised, the number one, most expensive diamond ever is the 105 carat “Mountain of Light”. The popular diamond is now a great draw for tourists at the HM Tower of London and at one time was known as largest known diamond in the world.

Les Femmes d’Alger by Pablo Picassco
Les Femmes d’Alger is one of 15 paintings and numerous drawings of Spanish cuban artist Pablo Picasso.  ‘To me there is no past or future in my art’, wrote Pablo Picassco in 1923.  Les Femmes d’Alger represents freshness of perspective and approach as it did when it was painted.  This painting sold for $179 million dollars.

When Will You Marry by Paul Gauguin
A 1982 picture of two Tahitian girls broke the record for most expensive single work of art when purchased for $300 million by a Swiss collector named Qutar.  This painting was created while traveling to escape everything artificial and conventional in Europe.

The Card Players by Paul Cezanne
This painting features two stony-faced card players, the gardener and a farm hand selected by Cezanne from his family’s estate outside of Aix-en-Provence.  The Card Players was painted during Cezanne’s final period in the early 1890’s. The Card Players was purchased for $274 million.

No. 6 (Violet, Green and Red) by Mark Rothko
This American painter set a record for a sale price of $186 million by Russian billionaire Dmitry Rybolovlev. This painting has a deep concept of morality and spirituality.  Rothko’s intentions were to engulf viewers with bright bands of colors painted on canvas.

No 5, 1948 by Jackson Pollock
No 5 was created on fibreboard, which is also known as composition board.  Pollock used liquid paints that are specifically synthetic resin paints (gloss enamel or oil paints).  This painting was painted twice as a prime example of an artist getting a second chance. No 5 sold for 165.4 million.

Woman III by Willem de Kooning
This painting was the third painting of six by de Kooning created between 1951 and 1953.  Part of the Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art, this painting disappeared from view after strict rules about images of woman were introducted after the 1979 revolution.  This painting sold for $162.4 million.

Le Reve by Pablo Picasso
This painting was purchased by Steven Cohen, one of Wall Street’s biggest art collectors, but Steve Wynn, a casino owner in Las Vegas accidently put his elbow through the canvas of this picture.  The painting had to be repaired before the deal could go through.  Le Reve sold for $158.5 million.

Portrait of Adele Block-Bauer I by Gustav Klimt
This painting has an amazing story behind it.  Seized by the Nazis during the Second World War, it was reclaimed by the rightful owner’s neice when she was in her 80’s.  The Portrait of Adele Block-Bauer I was recently seen in a film Woman in Gold starring Helen Mirren.  This portrait sold for $158.4 million.

Portrait of Dr Gachet by  Vincent van Gogh
Van Gogh’s portrait of a medic who cared for him in the final month of his life broke records when it was sold in 1990 for $152 million.  This painting was purchased by Japanese industrialist Ryoei Saito, but when he died in debt, the painting disappeared.  There are no known locations at this time for the painting.

Three studies of Lucian Freud by Francis Bacon
This painting holds the current auction record after selling at Christie’s New York in 2013 for $145 million.  It was anticipated this painting would sell around $85 million, but it quickly surpassed by frantic bidders.  Painted in 1969, it shows Bacon’s friend Lucian Freud, a British painter. This painting sold for $145 million.
